Cross Network SQLs – Running an SQL Query Across Multiple Networks

It is possible to run an SQL query across more than one network. This can be achieved by selecting the main menu Tools > Run Query Across Multiple Networks. Let say I am interested in knowing the total length of pipes in a number of networks.

The query I’d write for one network might look something as follows.

SQL to Calculate Pipe Length

SQL to Calculate Pipe Length

SELECT SUM(length)/1000 AS ‘Total Pipe Length (km)’

I can still use exactly the same SQL but this time running it across many networks. This will generate an output of the total pipe length in all networks. All that needs to be done is to drag and drop the networks and the one SQL into the ‘Run Query’ dialog box.
