2017 InfoWorks ICM / ICMLive User Group Meeting Report

The 2017 InfoWorks ICM / ICMLive User Group Meeting was held on the 20th June 2017. The event took place at the Conference Centre on Howbery Park, Wallingford, UK. We had over 80 attendees for the day. The event was a resounding success, even the record high temperatures we experienced in the UK that week didn’t seem to put people off (the conference room did get a little warm towards the end of the day!).

It was good to see that all the sessions ran to time, the room logistics worked well and the catering was to a high standard. All of the presentations were excellent and generated a high level of Q&A at the end of each session (copy of the agenda is available here).

The feedback we got from delegates as they left the conference indicated that the meeting was highly successful.  Everyone I spoke to certainly felt the event was thoroughly worthwhile and extremely productive.  This has been backed up by several very positive e-mails that I received from delegates in the days after the event.

Rafed Ali – Principal Hydraulic Modeller – Southern Water
“Many thanks for yesterday’s excellent event. I found it very useful and it was a great opportunity for networking as well.”
David Mardon – Associate – Water Environment Ltd
“Great conference yesterday.   I was interested in finding out how much the additional packages cost.”
Richard Cram – Assistant Hydraulic Modeller – ATKINS
“Thank you for a very interesting conference yesterday, it has given me much to think about!”
Geoff Brown – Wastewater Modelling Specialist – Thames Water
“I was impressed yesterday with the Model360.”
Kristian Ravnkilde – Principal Hydraulic Modeller – Atkins
“It was a very good event, and I’m looking forward to playing with InfoSWMM Sustain.”
Katie Powell – Graduate Hydraulic Modeller – Richard Allitt Associates
“The experience was great and very worthwhile. Thank you for organising such a great event.”
Rachel Hopgood – Engineer – JBA Consulting
“It was an interesting day with a good variety of presentations.”
Francesca Hurt – Principal Consultant – Amec Foster Wheeler Environment and Infrastructure UK Limited
“I am glad the feedback was good, it was a great day, very interesting and useful presentations, and superb catering [smile]”

People are always keen to have access to follow-up materials soon after our meetings.  In this respect, Innovyze have asked the permission of each presenter to make their PowerPoint file available in PDF format.  A ZIP file containing all presentations that have been authorised for general distribution can be downloaded by clicking here.

At Innovyze we believe it’s important to have something to formally recognise the contribution external presenters make to the success of our events, and in this respect, we have sent each presenter a certificate in recognition of their talk.  I’m hopeful they will be able to display it prominently at their place of work and so encourage others to contribute to future Innovyze events.

My thanks to all those who helped with the organisation and delivery of the 2017 User Group Meeting – a great job, well done!
